In Quedlinburg one can enjoy both cultural experiences and a time of relaxation. The area is ideal for walks, bike and hiking tours, narrow-gage train trips into the Harz mountains and the romantic valleys of the Selke and Bode rivers. Spend your vacation in the heart of Quedlinburg's old city and enjoy your stay within the walls of a restored monument.

Our four heritage residences, each with its own particular character, are located in two buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. Each apartment has been named after a famous woman in Quedlinburg's history.

The buildings in which the apartments are located are in the heart of the historical center. They were restored with great attention paid to historical building detail and to the creation of a healthy living environment.

The goal of the planning carried out by the architectural firm QuArK was to retain as much of the old building substance as possible, or, wherever necessary, to repair it. Whenever the historical substance could not be saved, new elements (recognizable as such) were added so as to complete the ensemble as a harmonious whole.

Ideally, the apartments are designed for two visitors. The large, comfortable sofas, however, are easily convertible into two additional sleeping possibilities in the living room. Each apartment is equipped with the following:

an electrical stove (Carl Ritter Straße) or a gas stove (Am Hospital) with a baking oven

Dorothea (Am Hospital 1)

"Dorothea", the first residence, which completed. It is located in what was originally a maternity ward of the Holy Spirit Hospital of Quedlinburg. This is the only still existing structure of a hospital whose history can be traced back to the year 1232.

The half-timbered building contains six two-storied houses under one roof. It is enhanced by the central decorative gable. The inscription documents the donation of the house in 1713.

The building is located in a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of the historical center of Quedlinburg. Two apartments take up the middle and north portions of the house. The apartment "Dorothea" is located in the south division of the house directly above the office of the architectural firm. The patroness of the residence is Dorothea Christina Erxleben (1715-1762), the first woman doctor in Germany.
